I have always been a dog person and never a cat person.  That’s why I taught my kids to never say “never.”  People change all the time.  Now, I am a cat person.  Who woulda thunk it?

Samantha loves cats.  Santa brought her the most adorable kitten this past Christmas.  Samantha named her Luna.  I love seeing Samantha mother her kitty and take such good care of her.  I don’t know if I love Luna because she’s my grand kitty or whether I just like cats.  Either way, Luna has brought me joy.  And, she loves Gretta, which puts her on the top of my list.  Gretta is the perfect sidekick and friend.  Gretta puts up with Luna.  Watch her below.  What a sweet dog!  Poor Sean has to put up with all the women – me, Samantha, Gretta and now, Luna.

A few months ago, I started wearing mom’s wedding ring on my right pinkie finger.  It was a little loose, but not able to just slip off.  Now my pinkie is fatter than before and my ring is snug as a bug.

Recently, I lost my ring on my last morning in Brevard.  I remember packing up my clothes and shoving them into my bag.  Afterwards, something didn’t feel right.  OMG, my ring was gone!  Oh boy, it could be in a million places.  I did a Samanthaism, “Oh well, if it’s meant to be found, great, if not, then I’m ok with it too.”

After a few days back home, Sean texted me saying, “Who lost a ring? Mimi just found one in a towel.”

You gotta be kidding me.  Is it a magic ring and just appeared out of nowhere?  Is it my mom playing a trick on me with Mom Mimi?  What is it?

I know.  It’s a connection between me and my moms.  I love spending time and laughing with my Mom Mimi.  I love her and she loves me.  Mom Mimi is smart, witty, funny as hell, and sees all.  She has a way of looking inside you.

Spend time with your loved ones and love them for who they are.

Did you figure it out?  I started my year off in Atlanta, experiencing Justin Timberlake at the State Farm Arena, and laughing and playing with family and friends.  What else is there?

Wednesday

• Flight to ATL with Samantha.  Many empty seats.  Weird.  Flight attendant said that is was very rare to have an empty plane.  Great for us.
• My wife, Rachel, arrived to pick me up with Popeyes and a coke.  Heaven.

Thursday

• Lunch with work friends at Houston’s – just like old times
• Annual checkup with my NP who I’ve known since the 80’s.  Really.
• Visit with old coworkers – I miss them.
• Afternoon chillin with my old boss and friend
• JT concert – amazing, crisp vocals, super cool moves – love him

Friday

• Lunch with current coworker to talk business
• Haircut with my favorite Japanese stylist who I’ve known since the 80’s.  Really – chic and edgy cut – love it
• Visit with girlfriends – Murphy the pug dog molested me with kisses on the mouth!
• Dinner at fave tapas restaurant with girlfriends from high school – doesn’t get better than this.  Oh wait – live salsa band.  My bootie did some solo salsa and it was spiritual and tiring.

Saturday

• Brevard for weekend – saved the best for last – family time

I love my ATL, JT, but mostly friends and family.  I am my true self with these wonderful folks.

I have been showered with love.  I am prepared to take on 2019!
