Where’s Your Happy Place?

Sunday is a day to reflect on all things that make you happy.  The beach was simply beautiful today.  Temps in the low 70’s, light breeze, calm surf, and the warmth of the sun.  Walking and relaxing on the beach brings us joy and happiness!

Where’s your happy place?  If you don’t know, then it’s time to find it.  Wherever it is, make sure you go there again and again.  Sometimes we take things for granted and don’t make the time and effort to be in our happy place.  Be happy, it looks good on you.

I mentioned in a prior post that I want to give back this year.   I decided to start a support group for others who JDFR “just don’t feel right.”  The support group is called VIBE for Voyaging Into Balanced Energy.  Any VIBER with a vestibular/balance condition is welcome to join the support group.  The goal of the group is to meet other VIBERs, share personal stories, learn new therapies, coping skills, and get good vibes.  A VIBER’s day is different everyday and it gets lonely.  My hope is for VIBERs to unite and balance together.

I want to thank several people for helping with VIBE.

Sean for his everlasting support and putting up with my VIBE, which is a lot.

Nathaniel for designing the logo in a NY minute.  Really!   Nathaniel and I work on projects in a very interesting way.  I send him a rough sketch and concept and he takes it to the highest level of artistry coolness.  We do this back and forth art talk via text and voila, it’s done.  We have an art bond that’s been developing for quite some years now.

Patty, owner of Rock Solid Fitness, encourages me and has helped me get stronger this past year.  She suggested the word VIBE for me.  I loved it and went with it.

Doris, owner of Home Care Assistance, graciously offered her office space for our group meetings.  The space is perfect and beautifully decorated with beach colors, my favorite.

If you’re on FB, please like my page – Vibers FL.  I’m so excited!

Cincy Road Trip

Posted on February 8, 2020 by Laureen2014

D6268E07-CDE9-4211-91F7-20F6CB2FE4B2I had a recent opportunity to visit Cincinnati with my wife.  I didn’t know much about this city and it wasn’t on my radar at all.  Turns out, it was a pretty cool town.

Amazing art murals on every street, delicious eats, Art Deco architecture, historic buildings and snow!  Who can ask for anything more?

This mural is my favorite.  I am amazed at this masterpiece every time I look at it.  When you stand below it, you feel like all the gorgeous fruits and veggies are about to fall on your head.  I was told that budding student artists paint the murals.  Wow!

My first meal at this cozy French cafe.  I have never eaten a croissant with a knife and fork.  Ham and Swiss covered with bechamel sauce.  All gone!

Ok, if you know me well enough, you know I love a good meatball.  Well, this meatball was as big as a softball covered with arrabiata sauce and ricotta on the top.  Let’s just say, “Oh my!”  I ordered it for dessert and it hit the spot.

En route to Atlanta, we discovered the Colonel Sanders KFC cafe and museum in Kentucky.  How about that?  A real treat. We saw the kitchen where the secret recipe was discovered, old menus, receipts and other neat stuff.  A bucket of KFC original recipe on a Sunday afternoon brings back fond memories for me.  My Mom and Dad loved KFC and this was a special dinner treat for us when Mom took a break from cooking. Yummy!

A delicious way to end our fun road trip!  Go somewhere new and unexpected and see what you can discover.
